The White Tiger

The White Tiger is a narration by an individual on his life and the vindication of his actions. It is the self-accounted story of person who hails from a poor village background and rises to the level of an entrepreneur in Bangalore. It is a very possible story of any Indian youth, just that you begin to feel there are other overlooked stories. Even after the acceptance of the probability one never fails to see the bashing unnecessary. Adiga could have at least spared Gandhi. Leaving the righteousness of the story apart Adiga is definitely a compulsive writer who keeps us pace with the events .One additional thing that personally turned me off were the reasons used to defend the lack of virtue. The end never justifies the means. It would have appealed a lot more had it carried a simple "moral of the story". When the question of deserving man-booker comes I can not comment as i have not really read the others on the list. Apparently, as like the slum dog millionaire the outside world tends to shower credit more than entitled when the subject involves substandard India. The white tiger might not be, but Adiga is a promise!!
